Quickstart

Launch your first geo campaign from scratch in about ten minutes.

You'll create a location, a notification and a geo campaign that sends the notification when a phone enters the location. Your app needs the Bubbl SDK first: see Set up the SDK.

  1. 1
    Draw the location
Go to Locations › Create Location. Search for the place on the map, choose Polygon or Circle under Geofence shape and draw it: for a polygon, click to add points and click the last point again to close it; for a circle, click to place the centre and drag the slider to set the radius. Enter a Location name and click Create location.
  2. 2
    Write the notification
Go to Notifications › Create Notification and leave the type on Message. Enter a Notification name (only your team sees it), a Headline and a Body, and watch the Live preview. Optionally add media or a call to action under Notification add-ons. Click Save and exit.
  3. 3
    Start the campaign
Go to Campaigns › Create Campaign and enter a Campaign name. Under Target scope, stay on Locations and click the location you drew. Under Schedule, set when it Runs; leave the end open to keep it running.
  4. 4
    Attach the notification
Under Notifications, click Attach existing, find your notification and click Attach. In Activation, choose On enter and click Confirm and save, then Done.
  5. 5
    Create it
Click Create campaign. It shows as Scheduled until its start time, then Active, and Bubbl starts watching the geofence for your app's users.

Check it worked#

Open the campaign from Campaigns › Overview. Its Delivery card counts what was sent, delivered, failed and opened, and Recent activity lists each event as it happens. Reports gives the wider picture over time.

Test on your own phone firstIn the Sandbox, only approved test devices receive anything. Approve your phone under Configuration › Test Devices, walk into the location and check the notification arrives before you go live.
Radius and shape limitsA circle's radius is 50 to 1,000 metres. A polygon needs at least 3 points and no more than 99, and its edges can't cross.
