Import locations

Add a whole network of places at once from a CSV of circles or a GeoJSON file of polygons, check every row, then import.

Go to Locations › Import Locations. Importing is part of your plan: without it, the menu item is greyed out with an upgrade prompt.

File formats#

A file can hold up to 5,000 locations and be up to 10 MB.

   Upload

   Drop a CSV or GeoJSON file on the page, or click or choose a file. To paste GeoJSON instead, click Paste GeoJSON instead and then Check GeoJSON.

   Check the columns

   Bubbl reads the file. If it can't tell which column is which, choose them and click Check with these columns.

   Review

   The Rows table shows every row, and Problems filters it to the rows that need something. Fix a row in place, or skip the rows with problems and fix them later. A row counts as matching an existing location when it has the same name, or its centre is within 10 metres of an existing location (never by an id). For a match, choose Update existing, Skip or Add as new (or set one choice for All). The Map preview shows ready rows in purple and problems in red, so swapped coordinates stand out.

   Import

   Start the import. It carries on if you leave the page, and ends with how many were imported, updated and skipped.

After an import#

• Download skipped rows gives you a CSV of the rows that weren't imported, to fix and import again.
• Add them to a group → takes you to create a location group.
• Undo import removes the new locations and puts updated ones back, for 10 minutes after the import finishes.
• Recent imports on the import page lists past imports with who ran them and the result.
